Our stay at the Temple Hotel was so much more than we hoped for. Our hosts were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The experiences on offer gave us an insight into Buddhism, temple life, traditional food, and culture. Everything was of the highest quality and thoughtfully provided. It was easy to catch the train there, and Ayabe is a delightful place after the busyness of Kyoto. We would definitely recommend staying here, and hopefully, we can visit again one day.

Front desk staff speaks the best English I’ve heard from Japanese all trip. Property located on a quiet street that is near to Kyoto Station(5min) and 10min walking distance to Aeon, with lots of bus stops nearby. Room is huge for Japan standards, with in-room washing machine, microwave, toaster and an actual fridge (has freezer). Separation between toilet, shower, and sink. Toilet seat opens automatically upon approach. Free coffee and tea for guest 3PM - 12AM.

My family's first trip to Japan and our first ryokan experience. This not a business hotel with all the associated business amenities. It's more like visiting friends or family. The owner and his family operate this ryokan. It seems to be a very genuine experience. A performance by one of Kyotos maikos was an exceptional cultural immersion. It was an enjoyable stay and a great base-location in Gion for exploring Kyoto. Enthusiastically recommend.

Hotel is located two blocks north of the Gion District. it's away from the hustle and bustle of Gion and Pontocho in a quiet neighbourhood. Check in was fast, rooms clean and big. Hotel also has washing machines and dryers on premises. The famous temple Heian Jinyu is an 8 min walk away, as is the Kyoto City Zoo. 18 min away is the Nanzen Ji Temple. These places are less crowded and yet very beautiful.

Huge room, especially for Japanese standards. Comfy bed and nice toiletries. Perfect hosting by its kind manager, who makes you feel really welcome. They even prepared a special surprise for my fiancées birthday, which made our stay even better! I'd definitely recommend Hotel Muso if you're staying in Kyoto, location is perfect too. Calm road but close enough to anywhere you'd want to go.

Location of the hotel was very good, near the crosswalk of the West Hachioji JR Kyoto exit. The room was a bit snug but very clean. The hotel had an onsen bath with liberal usage hours. The staff was quite helpful when needed. A bus stop was right in front of the hotel or another across the street. It is convenient to walk to Don Quijote or the Aeon Mall. The showers are nice, Japan style wet room.

Very close to the Kyoto Train station son you can simply walk to the hotel saving you time and money Breakfast is wonderful with Japanese, Chinese and European options sob you won't go hungry Easy to walk to bus stops as well taking you to sites to visit It lacked storage space but that'd quite normal for Japanese hotels Lots of shops around Specially in the underground station

Love the free coffee, sake and amenities offered here. Everyone was so helpful and felt like they wanted to help you. Hotel was located nearby eateries so walking was no problem. Local bars nearby as well as their own. We didn't get a chance since we were always coming back late from the day. I would totally look this location again the next time I'm in Kyoto

Close to points of interest in Kyoto, Gion, Hirashiyama, temples, river, restaurants, shopping, Nishiki market, etc. Bus and subway lines easy access. First rate and clean facility even by Japanese standard, including the onsen. Rooftop view, foot bath, well stocked fridge wjrb drinks, excellent staff (some English speaking), treated well. Kind of a boutique hotel.

Using the Japanese bathroom dryer was a experience. Great to see how Japanese compact everything into a small apartment to get you everything you need. It is also close to the Kyoto Station, Gion District, Nijo Castle, also udon noddle spot across the street from the corner of the hotel, and other Kyoto attraction/tourist spot is very close by too.

The stay was AMAZING. So very comfortable. Just like other reviews mentioned, the hosts do a great job of making you feel a true Japanese experience! The care that went into explaining any questions I might have had about Kyoto/Japan was amazing. The effort put into breakfast was AMAZING. They made me feel like family. I will definitely be back.

This is a really good option to stay in Kyoto. The hotel is clean and with a pleasant design. Standard small toilet, but the room is a decent size for Japan. I appreciated that the laundry machines' cycle could be tracked from the room through the TV, this way you could be sure when they were ready to be used.

Thank you so much for the nice stay. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. All the space was clean and furnished really well. Hotel is near train station and bus stop. We can honestly recommend Minn Gion and I’m sure we will reserve room the next time in Kyoto.

The room was bigger than most Japanese hotels. It had 2 bed rooms and for the price, you couldn't beat it! Very clean and very roomy. The location is very quiet and takes a bit to get to popular places but that's what made the adventure through Kyoto awesome! Highly recommend!

The room is quite specious compared to other hotels in Japan. I like the public hot pool the hotel provides. The location is good. It is close to Aeon Shopping Mall, and can walk to Kyoto station and Todaiji Temple. If I have a chance to be in Kyoto, I will stay at the hotel again.

Probably the Best location if you are on a budget trip to Kyoto, the Hostel is close to Kyoto JR station and Yodobashi camera mall, Keep your expectations low, bec this is a Hostel. Bonus: there is a bus stop for Bus 206 near the hostel that brings you near Kiyomizudera temple

EXCEPTIONAL ROOM & STAFF!! Hotel Emion Kyoto was modern, beautiful and family friendly. Our room was really bright, clean & tidy and the rooftop lounge was breathtaking!! Wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again for future visits to Kyoto ♥️

We had a pleasant stay at the Saju Kyoto Hotel! We were welcomed with Matcha tea and delicious cookies. In general, the people were so nice and welcoming. We loved the more „traditional“ experience and had actually a good sleep there! We would definitely come again.

Coin laundry services are fantastic, gym and option for indoor public bath. Rooms also reasonably sized for Japan hotels and bathrooms large. Location was also fantastic, very close to Kyoto Station and shopping malls and easy to get around with large luggage.

Good location near Kyoto JR and bus station. You can walk to hotel or can take bus if you do not wish to walk, it is just a stop to reach. Hotel provides welcome Ice cream in the day and at night welcome snacks and beers, juices, sake throughout your stays.
